Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, username, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text). When you list an item, we collect the details you provide about it, including photos and test results. When you make a purchase, we record which listing you bought.

2. How we use your data

We use your information to operate your account, display your listings to buyers, process purchases, and communicate with you about your account or transactions. We don't sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Who we share your data with

We use a small number of third-party providers to run NetsMarket, and only share what each one needs to do its job:

  • Supabase — hosts our database and stores photos you upload.
  • Resend — sends account and order emails (such as password resets and order updates) on our behalf.
  • Stripe — processes payments and seller payouts. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Didit — verifies seller identity as part of onboarding to receive payouts.
  • Sendcloud and AfterShip — generate shipping labels and provide tracking updates for orders.
  • Anthropic — powers optional AI features, such as suggesting listing descriptions from the details you provide.

We don't sell your personal data to any third party.

4. Cookies and local storage

We don't set any cookies at all today — your signed-in session is kept in your browser's local storage instead, which is required for the site to function.

If you arrive via a marketing link, we store which one in local storage so we know it worked — this never leaves your device unless you create an account, at which point it's attached to your account once. We also use Vercel's cookie-free Web Analytics to see aggregate site traffic; it doesn't use cookies or local storage on your device. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Your rights

You can view and manage your listings at any time from your profile page. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a listing or your account, that data is removed from our active database.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll note the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
